Dear
Mr. Motabbagani:
This
letter is in response to your letter of March 4, 1987, concerning
academic
assistance available to you at the University of Michigan. You should be aware
that currently we have no faculty specialists on North Africa except for Egypt.
Our former North African specialists, Richard Mitchell, Professor of History,
passed away several years ago and William Schorger, Professor of Anthropology,
has retired and moved out of the area.
For the
libraries which have the best North Africa collection dealing with French
orientalists, we would recommend those in Paris. If you are especially interested
in our collections, however, you could use the books in the library building
for no fee. If you wish to remove the books from the building for short periods
a $100 fee would be charged.
I hope
I have answered your questions. Please don't hesitate to contact me again if
you have others.
Best
regards,
Sincerely,
Anest
