Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet with you about my short research assignment: “ the British government support for Middle Eastern and Islamic studies since 1947” As agreed I am enclosing herewith I am enclosing some questions to help me with my research.
 
First: The esteemed St. Antony Centre for Middle Eastern  studies established more that fifty years ago had had relations with the British Government how would you describe these relations?
 
Second: Has the Centre approached the British Government for support to embark on any academic project? If yes, what these projects and what type of support did the Centre receive?
 
Third: What impact did in your views had the Hayter and Parker’s reports have on the Centre’s activities and projects.
 
Fourth: The Centre has an ambitious agenda in the field of Middle Eastern Studies, was the Centre involved in any of the new government projects particularly after Islam was designated an strategic topic?
 
Fourth: How do you see the future of the relationship between the Centre and the different government’s agencies?
 
Fifth: How do you see the support of the British government to the field of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies in the last ten years?
